Eastbound And Down Season 2 Teaser: Kenny Powers Is Back In September!

Eastbound & Down, HBO’s ridiculously offensive series about a washed up, egotistical, possibly psychotic baseball player forced to move in with relatives in suburbia, is coming back. The show gets a second season and the first episode airs on September 26th.

Danny McBride plays Kenny Powers as a deluded asshole willing to abuse anyone around him at any time, just to satiate his own massive, out of control ego. He’s a jerk and also kind of hilarious. When last we saw him he’d been offered a shot at returning to the big leagues, and he’d left his family, quit his teaching job, and headed back to baseball. Somehow I don’t think he’ll stay there long.

To celebrate Kenny’s return HBO has released a new Eastbound & Down teaser. It doesn’t offer any clues about the season, it doesn’t even contain any actual footage. There’s probably no good reason to watch it, but you’ll want to anyway. Here it is:
