Ellen Gets Herself A Really Big Show

Ellen DeGeneres became a household name when she starred in her own sitcom but even more so when she got her own talk show and charmed America with her quiet but hilarious sense of humor. Now she’ll be returning to her comedic roots as she hosts a TBS variety special called, ‘Ellen’s Really Big Show.’ The special will feature musical acts as well as stand-up comedy.

According to E! Online, HBO’s Comedy Festival will play a part in the ‘Really Big Show.’ The festival will feature big names like Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock and is set to take place at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas from November 14th through the 17th. ‘Ellen’s Really Big Show’ is a two-hour special that will feature acts from the festival and air on TBS on November 18th.

Ellen seems pleased about hosting the special and working with TBS, saying, “I usually put two TBS of sugar in my coffee every day, so this is a dream come true for me.”

On a personal note, I love anything to do with Ellen DeGeneres. She’s charming, humble and has a real knack for poking fun at herself without coming off as self absorbed or self conscious.

DeGeneres is up for an Emmy for Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety or Music program for her role as the host of this year’s Academy Awards Ceremony.

For those of you who cant get enough of Ellen’s talk show, the fifth season starts up on September 4th and according to E! Online, has been renewed through 2009-10.
