Fans of the movie and Broadway play Grease. will be pleased to learn that BBC Worldwide Productions is putting together a reality show which will allow Broadway hopefuls to audition for the roles of Danny Zuko and Sandy Dumbrowski in a revival production of the play. America will vote to decide which two aspiring Broadway performers will be cast in the hit musical.
The new show will be titled ‘You’re The One That We Want’ and will air mid-season on NBC. BBC News reported the following comment from NBC Spokesman Craig Plestis: "Americans have grown up with these catchy tunes and appealing characters, and we think they'll love the chance to select the next dynamic duo to play Sandy and Danny."
Editorial note: I haven’t been able to watch the movie Grease since I was young. It was simply one of those movies that I watched so many times as a kid that it lost all its flavor. That being said, I still love the Broadway soundtracks of the original and revival casts. There are a number of songs in the musical that never made it to the film. I think it’s likely that since the winners will go on to star in the Broadway musical, they’ll be performing the additional songs. The question is, will the viewers grow tired of the Grease soundtrack by the finale? Not that the show will need it but this reality show will work wonders for ticket sales when the show opens next summer.

I love it .Grease is has to be the best musical off all the time; for that I’m planning to get cheap tickets from Ticketsinventory to have a great evening out with my friends. For sure, this will be one of the best evenings of my life!
Right now I'm watching. To be honest, i'm pretty disappointed with some of the songs these contestants have chosen to sing. In example, someone chose to sing, "I love Rock and Roll" by Joan Jett but you could tell they had alot more vocal ability to the point where they shouldve chosen a song that would show it off more. I remember seeing Grease when it was last on broadway. Wonderful performance
BRILLIANT , BRILLIANT, BRILLIANT Marketing idea for a TV reality show, AS WELL as SOLD OUT attendance for GREASE, the broadway show!!
Excellent work...Kudos to Michael David Jensen, the producer!
Sincerely!
