Its been just short of three years since Justin Timberlake tore off part of Janet Jackson’s top and exposed her left breast on national television during the Super Bowl. Since then, the Federal Communications Commission has been all over CBS over the incident which has been referred to as “Nipplegate.”
20 of CBS Corp’s TV stations have been fined for allowing Jackson’s nipple to be exposed for a second on primetime television. The fines ordered on the stations total around half a million dollars.
The incident was claimed to have been a “wardrobe malfunction” by all parties involved. The FCC argued that the incident was “indecent” and Variety.com reported that part of the network’s defense was that they were unaware that the incident was going to take place.
Also according to variety.com, the 2007 Superbowl will take place in February and Prince is set to perform.
