Fans Show Support For Dog The Bounty Hunter

Not since Boba Fett has there been a bounty hunter with such a huge fan base. But Duane “Dog” Chapman is no fictional Star Wars character. He’s a real guy in some real trouble and if his fans have anything to say about it, he’ll be a free man. Fans of Chapman have been voicing their outrage at the arrest of the Dog, his son Leland and fellow bounty hunter, Tim Chapman. A special aired Tuesday night on A&E, which told Dog’s side of the story, including the events surrounding the capture of serial rapist Andrew Luster, which lead to Dog’s arrest three years later.

As bounty hunting is illegal in Mexico, Luster’s capture was considered unlawful. Supporters of Dog and what he and his family do are rallying together to do what they can to see that he is freed. Dog’s fansite, Dogthebountyhunter.com has a list of contact numbers, addresses and websites that people can use to contact the U.S. government as well as the Hawaiian government. They are also accepting donations for Dog’s legal fees.

Finally, there is an online petition requesting the US and Mexican government let Dog, Leland and Tim go. The effectiveness of online petitions is questionable but if there’s anything the people can do to get Dog out of the pen, his fans will find a way.

So where do you stand? The last news update we posted here at TV Blend got quite a mixed response. While many people were supportive of Dog, there were also some who believe his arrest was justified - The law’s the law and all that.
