Firefly's Summer Glau To Guest Star In Hawaii Five-0
Firefly badass Summer Glau has landed a role on CBS’ procedural with a pretty landscape, Hawaii Five-0. As usual, the active actress will play a female dealing with some pretty heavy stuff—in the cop drama’s case, she’ll be involved with an underground fighting ring. Additionally, the actress’ character will be searching for the person who killed her father. That sounds like a lot of tough breaks.
There isn’t a ton of news surrounding Glau’s character, other than the aforementioned stuff. However, TV Line is reporting the actress’ episode is set to air sometime this spring, although that’s currently only a tentative time frame.
Any non-science fiction program willing to throw a bone at Glau is an alright program in my book. The actress often lands gigs in the sci fi realm, including everything from a more recent recurring role on Alphas to standout roles in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Firefly. However, she’s an actress with the looks to play a multitude of ages and a better actress as a whole than much of the realm outside of science fiction gives her credit for. Personally, I love it when Glau gets the chance to appear in more varied programs, like Grey’s Anatomy (where she played a nurse) or Hawaii Five-0, and I honestly just wish she would be signed on for more than a one-episode guest stint.
Hawaii Five-0 is currently in its third season on CBS. New episodes air on Mondays at 10 p.m. ET.
