Full Trailer For The Final Season Of HBO's Entourage
Entourage is finally wrapping things up. Did they overstay their welcome? I would say yes, but that doesn't mean my remote won't turn to HBO on premiere Sunday to see just what the boys are going to get into this year. Oh, and despite what you may think (and what I just said), this is probably not the last time we'll see the Vince, E, Turtle, Drama and Ari, it's just the last time we'll see them in serialized television storytelling.
This eighth year, already announced as the final season of the show famous for taking us behind the scenes of crazy celebrity culture, will probably end in cliffhanger territory since it's almost certain that the series will actually wrap itself up in a feature film to follow the finale. Mark Wahlberg, the executive producer and, well, source material, for Entourage has made it perfectly clear that he intends to take the crew to the big-screen. My reaction, ugh.
HBO has finally released a full trailer for the upcoming season (there was a tease, in every sense of the word, release a few weeks back) and it seems, once again, heavy on the drama and light on the comedy. This makes me unhappy since the only reason I started watching the series was for the carefree laughs and wish-fulfillment aspect of going along with the crazy life of a Hollywood celeb. However, over the last few years, it seems Doug Ellin and his writers are more interested in scripting cliche Hollywood problems (sex, drugs and rehab) than making us laugh (or enjoy ourselves).
Judge for yourself. Like I said, I'm still in but begrudgingly so...
Entourage is back on HBO, for one last season, on July 24, 2011.
