George Lopez To Host New Fox Dating Show Take Me Out

With his TBS talk show cancelled as of last year, that leaves George Lopez open for new jobs, and it looks like he’s found one at Fox. Earlier this month, Fox announced a fun sounding new summer dating series called Take Me Out. Today Fox announced that George Lopez will host the show.

Set to premiere on Thursday, June 7, Take Me Out follows a popular international format and has single men and women hoping to make a good impression on one another and make it through various elimination rounds. Comedian and former late night talk show host George Lopez will host the series, and probably bring a bit of his style of comedy to the job.

“I am thrilled to be hosting such an entertaining new series,” said Lopez. “Anything can happen on a show like Take Me Out and I’m looking forward to the excitement.”

Those who were disappointed when Lopez’ Lopez Tonight was cancelled by TBS last summer will likely be pleased to know he’ll be returning to television. Take Me Out premieres Thursday, June 7 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Read more about how the format for the series will work here.
