Giveaway: Expedition Africa Prize Pack CONTEST CLOSED

Later this month History will premiere their new series Expedition Africa: Stanley & Livingston. If you fancy yourself an explorer and are looking forward to this show, you might consider entering this contest, in which one lucky winner will receive a History backpack, disposable camera and a trek kit filled with a few handing devices.

In addition to updates on their series, every day they post a “This Day in History” update that tells you what historic events took place that day. It’s sort of like a Facebook version of one of those “Fact of the day” desk calendars.

Watch the series premiere May 31 at 10pm/9c. Twenty miles off the coast of eastern Africa, four modern-day explorers are sailing toward the unknown, the deep interior of Tanzania. They'll travel over 900 miles through African terrain that is as stunning as it is fraught with danger. Using only a compass and basic maps, they will attempt to recapture the spirit of one of the world’s most remarkable adventures—journalist Henry Morton Stanley’s perilous 1871 journey to find Dr. David Livingstone.
