Glee fans, I hope you're not tired of Carly Rae Jepsen's pop-hit "Call Me Maybe," because the tune is used in the promo for the Fox musical dramedy's approaching fourth season. And guess who's singing it? We get a couple of glimpses of the cover, along with some snippets of Season 4.
Glee Season 4 will have a split focus of Rachel's adventures in New York and the William McKinley High School students. And that's what the promo does, jumping between some of the things going on with the remaining New Directions kids and Rachel settling in in the big city (and having an encounter with a very good-looking guy in a towel.)
Please let Glee be the last cover of "Call Me, Maybe." At this point, I've heard enough of it, but we can't really fault Glee for putting its own cover on the books. It was inevitable.
The Season 4 premiere is titled "The New Rachel," which is likely as much a nod to Rachel's fresh start in New York as it is the New Directions students vying to fill Rachel Berry's shoes as the star among the group. We'll have to wait and see, but it looks like Brittany's taking the lead in the Call Me, Maybe cover.
Glee Season 4 premieres next week (Thursday, September 13) at 9:00 p.m. on Fox.
