If you’ve been watching TV at any point over the last month or so, you might have come across one of CBS’ many Hawaii Five-0 ads. If you’re interested enough to see what CBS is doing with the reboot, read on for more details and some videos!
I’d say CBS has gone into over-kill territory with the ads for this series. The other day I was walking down the street in New York and saw the side of a building covered with a huge Hawaii Five-0 ad. While that alone wasn’t very subtle, the wall played the theme song. There’s a good possibility that that was in my head but I’m 99% positive it was coming from the building and not from some deeply embedded programming in my brain that triggers the music whenever I see CBS’ logo. Either way, we get it! Watch Hawaii Five-0! Pretty scenery. Hot people on surf boards. Book’em Danno! Below is the description for the series, which is a revival of the classic cop-drama by the same name. There are also a couple of promotional videos, one of which includes the theme song for the show and another that’s an actual clip from the first episode. Moonlight, Lost and Battlestar Galactica have collided as far as the cast and with Peter Lenkov, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci at the wheel, there’s a good chance this series could be a hit. Given that it's supposed to be more of a procedural-type show than a serial drama, I think it'll be a good fit on CBS. HAWAII FIVE-0 is a contemporary take on the classic series about a new elite federalized task force whose mission is to wipe out the crime that washes up on the Islands' sun-drenched beaches. Detective Steve McGarrett, a decorated Naval officer-turned-cop, returns to Oahu to investigate his father's murder and stays after Hawaii's Governor persuades him to head up the new team: his rules, her backing, no red tape and full blanket authority to hunt down the biggest "game" in town.
Hawaii Five-0 premieres Monday, September 20th (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on CBS. CLICK HERE to view the 2010 Fall TV Premiere Schedule. Back to top
