Matt Groening might have to build another money bin. Although “The Simpsons” ceased to be innovative about six years ago, that doesn’t mean the show isn’t still churning out above average entertainment. Fox has reached an agreement with Groening to keep Homer and the gang on the air for two more seasons, all the way through the 2007-2008 TV year.

"The Simpsons” already own or will own the following television records: the longest running animated show ever, longest running current show, and the longest running comedy ever. They even own a record that only a Guinness Book of World Records geek would love: the show with the most guest stars. I’m sure they own the record for most use of yellow in a cartoon too, but those bastards at Guinness won’t return my calls.

Returning along with "The Simpsons" will be the King. “King of the Hill” received a one year pickup after ratings were higher than expected even with its inconsistent showings. “King of the Hill” was created by Mike Judge of “Beavis and Butthead” fame. "King" is currently the 2nd longest-running comedy currently on television.
