How I Met Your Mother Video Has The Writers Discussing Season 8

Later this month, CBS' How I Met Your Mother will return for its eighth season, and given how Season 7 left off, fans are likely waiting for some answers. But let's face it, the very nature of How I Met Your Mother from the beginning has been about getting answers, so we may not want to get our hopes up that all will be revealed at the start of Season 8.

In this behind-the-scenes video for the series, executive producers Craig Thomas and Pamela Fryman talk about some of the things that will be addressed in Season 8, which includes (mild spoiler alert!) Barney getting engaged to Robin, and Ted's runaway bride situation. We also hear a bit from Neil Patrick Harris and Cobie Smulders. Unfortunately, the actual footage shown appears to be from last season.



"It's the year to start wrapping up a lot of loose ends, which is going to be really exciting," Craig Thomas says. "We hope people will feel that mixture of getting answers, while also simultaneously feeling a little bit jerked around."

It's interesting to hear what they have to say about real-life events working their way into the story. The series does seem to have fun with that at times. And I'm still disappointed that Victoria isn't "the one," at least we can still anticipate the great "mother" reveal in the future.

How I Met Your Mother Season 8 premieres September 24 on CBS.
