Jamie Fox is ambitious. He takes risky movie roles. He sings and dances. He does stand-up comedy. He writes screenplays. Really the guy is the consummate entertainer. Now he’s getting ready to put another television show on his resume, this time from behind the camera rather than in front of it. According to Deadline, Foxx is working on an independent project focused on the mafia. The show is called Tommy’s Little Girl and will star Selma Blair (Kath and Kim) and Paul Sorvino (That’s Life).

The show will deal with mobster Sorvino and his relationship with daughter, Blair. Tony Cirico (aka Paulie Walnuts from The Sopranos (who knows a thing or two about the mob – he was in it) is also attached to Foxx’s project, currently in the editing phase. When editing is completed on the potential, hour-long drama series, Foxx will begin shopping the pilot episodes to cable stations.

Regarding television, Foxx recently executive produced the MTV reality series From G’s to Gents and this past season guest-judged on American Idol. He’ll next appear on the big screen in the Todd Phillip’s comedy Due Date set for a November release.
