Janet Jackson To Pay Tribute To Michael At VMAs

In the wake of Michael Jackson’s death, it’s not all that surprising that MTV has something prepared to acknowledge the demise of the King of Pop at this years Video Music Awards.

MTV announced today that Janet Jackson will be appearing at the 2009 Video Music Awards to “pay musical tribute” to her brother during the ceremony. MTV was somewhat vague on the details, stating that Janet will open the entire show to honor her brother’s celebrated career. Whether that means a performance, a speech or an intro to a montage of Jackson’s videos and stage performances, MTV didn’t say. What MTV did mention was that reports that choreographer Frank Gaston is involved are erroneous.
