Jon Favreau In Talks To Write A Comedy For CBS
It looks like Jon Favreau may be headed back toward the small screen for another try at a series. Word is, the actor/director most known for his work on the big screen is in talks with CBS about a comedy script heís writing and from the sound of it, thereís a good chance itíll receive a pilot order.
According to Deadline, Favreauís comedy is called Tweaked and will be a single-camera comedy about single parents who are living and dating in Santa Monica.
When I think of Favreau on TV, I flash back to his days as Monicaís wealthy, aspiring ultimate-fighter boyfriend Pete Becker on Friends back in the í90ís. Since (and before) then, most of what he's known for has been on the big screen, however, he did try his hand at writing/directing a TV pilot back in 2007 called In Case of Emergency. Hopefully heíll have better luck with Tweaked on CBS. The fact that itís a single-camera comedy might give it more potential if this were any other network, however judging by some of CBSí most popular (hugely-rated) comedies, it would appear that the networkís viewers prefer live studio audiences and stage-sets to the format of most of the comedies airing on NBC, Fox and ABC. When I think of CBS single-camera comedies, Worst Week comes to mind, and Welcome to the Captain. Neither show had all that much success on the network, but perhaps Favreauís will.
