Julian Fellowes' Titanic Hits Blu-Ray Soon After Miniseries Airs On ABC
Julian Fellowes’ epic Titanic adventure program is set to air in the States on ABC in the middle of the month, smack dab amidst a slew of Titanic 100th anniversary commemorative events. The four part miniseries will air for three hours straight on April 14 and will air again on April 15 to finish out the (melo)dramatic event. Unfortunately, I do live in the States and cannot yet tell you whether or not Titanic will be a good investment of your time. I will say if you would like to watch the damn thing free of any commercials, there is great news on the horizon.
On April 24, Entertainment One is bringing Titanic to Blu-Ray and DVD. Currently, there is no full list of specs available, but if the U.K. edition is a reliable guide, viewers will get commentary, as well as a “Making Of” segment and several other on-the-set and historical bonus features. A photo gallery should round out the extras. Although it would be nice if Entertainment One could have collaborated with Nat Geo to include one of the company’s upcoming Titanic documentaries in the set (wishful thinking), the miniseries still looks as if it will be pretty interesting. With a story that is set to encompass the lives of crew members and passengers from all walks of life it sounds like it will make a nice edition to ABC’s weekend evening programming.
Titanic airs Saturday April 14 between 8:00 and 11:00 p.m. ET, and Sunday April 15 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC. Or, if you are truly brave, you can pre-order the set over at Amazon.
