Every time you see him, that Hammer’s just so hype. He’s dope on the floor and he’s magic on the mic. But how is he on a reality TV show? We’ll find out next month as Stanley Burrell, better known as MC Hammer (and didn’t he go by just “Hammer” for a while?) and his family will be starring in their own reality show on A&E appropriately titled, Hammertime.
Burrell was known for two things, his rapping and his ridiculous pants but with Hammertime viewers will get to see him, his wife of over 23 years and their six kids (ages ranging from 4 to 21!) as they go about their lives in Oakland, California. In addition to his husbandly and fatherly duties, Burrells keeps busy with various speaking engagements and also manages his online dance community (DanceJam.com), his Hammertime iPhone application (yes, love MC Hammer? There’s an app for that!) and his social media optimized label “Full Blast.”
The ten-episode series will premiere on Sunday, June 14 at 10 PM on A&E.
