Kara DioGuardi Signed For Another Season Of Idol

While Paula might still be waiting for her contract negotiations to secure her a seat at the American Idol judges table, Fox announced today that Kara DioGuardi will be returning to the show.

“We are so happy to welcome back Kara for her second season with Idol,” said Simon Fuller, Creator/Executive Producer, American Idol. “She is a breath of fresh air, and her passion for music and her understanding of talent is invaluable. This show is all about discovering new talent, and Kara’s championing of Adam Lambert is proof positive of her great instinct.”

Fox went on to say that DioGuardi’s been working on songwriting and producing since the last season of Idol ended. She’s been busy at work with numerous artists, including Cobra Starship featuring Leighton Meester, Pink, Kelly Clarkson, Theory of a Deadman, Jessie James and Tom Jones, as well as a song for the popular TV show “Hannah Montana.” She also has a song in the feature film Camp Rock 2.

As for Paula Abdul, The Hollywood Reporter states that her negotiations have “not yet been completed.” At least we know that come January we’ll be seeing three judges at the table, if not four.
