It’s kind of hard to picture Katee Sackhoff in a role in a show outside of the scifi genre. She currently plays Kara “Starbuck” Thrace, one of the lead characters on Battlestar Galactica and she also played Sarah Corvus in the cancelled remake of Bionic Woman. She’s probably done other stuff but those are the two things I know her from. Anyway, it looks like she’ll be stepping away from series that involve space and robots and into a show where the people are almost entirely made up of actual human parts (minus the implants and some botox, of course).
The Hollywood Reporter posted the news today stating that Sackhoff will play Dr. Theodora “Teddy” Lowe in four episodes of the FX series, Nip/Tuck. Her character is a doctor who challenges Sean. Ok, so maybe it’s not easy to picture Sackhoff in a non-scifi show but somehow I have no problem picturing her playing a woman who “challenges” people.
And speaking of Battlestar Galactica (kind of), the Reporter also posted the news that Polly Walker, who played Atia of the Julii in Rome has been cast for a role in the BSG prequel series, Caprica. Walker will play Sister Clarice Willow, “the gracious, eloquent and duplicitous high priestess and headmistress of the Athena Academy, a private religious school.”
