Sarah Connor fans and incest fetishists, rejoice! The Hollywood Reporter brings word that ex-Connor and former Spartan queen Lena Headey has joined the cast of HBO’s Game of Thrones. The lovely British brunette will be tackling royalty yet again, this time playing Queen Cersei of House Lannister, whose marriage to King Robert (Mark Addy) hasn’t put a crimp in her long-standing incestuous boot-knocking with her twin brother, Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau).

Based on George R.R. Martin’s multi-volume Song of Ice and Fire fantasy series, Game of Thrones will follow battles and betrayals between several kingdoms and families for control of The Iron Throne. The original plan, should the series actually survive, was to adapt one book per season.

In addition to the above-mentioned incest-y three-way, Thrones’ cast includes Sean Bean as Ned Stark and Peter Dinklage as Cersei’s other brother, Tyrion. Which guarantees that both my wife and I will be watching, but for very different reasons. The pilot is being directed by Thomas McCarthy, who previously directed Dinklage in The Station Agent.
