Lindsay Lohan In Talks To Play Elizabeth Taylor In A Lifetime Movie
Of all the working female actors out there, would Lindsay Lohan be your top pick to play the part Elizabeth Taylor in a television movie? Word is, the actor, also known for a recent Playboy photo spread, not to mention reported legal troubles, is in “early talks” to portray the glamorous film icon in a Lifetime movie.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Lifetime has had the project in development since May, just a few months after actress and humanitarian Liz Taylor passed away at the age of 79. Independent producer Larry Thompson is overseeing the TV movie and now it looks as though Lohan may star. At this point, it sounds like Lohan’s casting in the role is only in the early phases and nothing is set in stone just yet.
Lohan’s probably made headlines more for her personal and legal entanglements than for her acting work recently, which makes it a little difficult to speculate how she'd be in a part like this, presumably playing Taylor in her earlier years. She did recently pose as Marilyn Monroe for Playboy, but aside from an expression of appreciation for another film icon, that's not exactly a lot to go on either. Actual acting roles have been on the smaller side in recent years, with her last credited part being the 2010 film Machete. Before that, she starred in a TV movie called Labor Pains, and before that, a recurring guest spot on ABC’s Ugly Betty. Could playing Liz Taylor be her attempt at a comeback?
