Lohan Booted From Ugly Betty Set?

I usually try to avoid celebrity gossip, though I’ll admit I do have a tendency to get caught up in it if it’s really juicy or if it involves my favorite TV shows. So when I saw Mack’s article over in Cinema Blend’s celebrity news section about how Lindsay Lohan has been disinvited to return to Ugly Betty, I had to check it out.

According to what Mack reported, Lohan caused some problems on the set during her previous appearances on the show and she’s no longer welcome in Betty-land. The problem is, her character Kimmie is supposed to appear in a future script and if Lohan’s out, the writers are going to have to figure out a way around her role in the show. Lohan’s character, Kimmie appeared in Ugly Betty last season, showing up in a flashback as a teenager who got her kicks tormenting Betty. She appeared again earlier this season, playing Ignacio’s boss at a Queen’s fast food restaurant. Kimmie will be back in the episode that airs on October 23rd, (called “Granny Pants” - pictures from the episode in the gallery below. )

Here’s the thing, assuming the rumor is true, I’m not sure how this presents a major problem for the writers unless the script was ready to go to production in the near future. As of right now though, Kimmie’s story has been kind of off to the side in terms of the overall plot to the show. Then again, it’s entirely possible that whatever happens in the “Granny Pants” episode could have been a set up for a bigger role for her in the show.
