Fox announced today that after fourteen seasons of sketch comedy laughs, they’ve decided to cancel MADtv. The series, which has been around since 1995 will close out its final season will end after its 326th episode.

Over the course of its run, MADtv has earned itself 41 Emmy nominations and 4 Emmy awards in addition to numerous other awards. The series, which has thrived on being fast-paced and politically incorrect inspired laughter with various celebrity impersonations and pop-culture parodies. Of its cancellation, MADtv exec producer Kevin Reilly said, “The fact that this Emmy Award-winning show has been a FOX mainstay in late-night for 14 years is a testament to the creativity and dedication put forth each week by the talented cast, writers and crew. This was a very difficult decision and we would like to give our heartfelt thanks to everyone at MADtv for making us laugh for over 300 irreverent episodes.”

MADtv airs on Saturday nights at 11:00 PM on Fox. The final episode of the fourteenth and final season will air in May 2009.
