MTV Announces 2009 VMA Nominees

In September, MTV will broadcast the 2009 Video Music Awards. Today the network released the full list of nominees and it looks like Beyonce and Lady Gaga have cause to celebrate.

Also among the nominees are Britney Spears, Kanye West, Eminem and Taylor Swift. MTV also has a cool little category (last on the list) which celebrates a few fantastic music videos that never won a moon man. Among the ones nominated in that category are three of my favorite music videos of all time, Beastie Boys “Sabotage,” George Michael’s “Freedom” and U2’s "Where the Streets Have No Name".



The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards will air Sunday, September 13 at 9:00PM, (Live ET/Tape Delayed PT) on MTV.
