MTV Rings In New Year With Tequila, Perez

MTV’s newest It Girl will ring in 2008 with Tila Tequila’s New Year’s Eve Masquerade 2008, airing live from 11 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. EST in the network’s Times Square studio in NYC.

Decked out in masquerade attire, the party-hearty crowd will rock out to house DJ Travis of Gym Class Heroes, spinning hot tunes in between performances by Mary J. Blige (she of the shiny skin), Kid Rock, Fabolous, Paramore, Good Charlotte, Wyclef, Boys Like Girls, and Flo Rida. Look for some of Tila’s A Shot At Love cast to drop by, including a special appearance by series favorite Domenico.

And, wheee! It wouldn’t be a party without everyone’s favorite entertainment blogger Perez Hilton, who’ll host his own purple carpet celeb interviews and, of course, the obligatory discourse on celeb rehab victims and a few outrageous predictions for ‘08.

MTV fans across the globe can be part of the action on MTV.com, where they can watch the night’s performers, show highlights, and check out celeb photos.

If that’s not enough, MTV Mobile is making select performances from the night available through its carrier partners. Partygoers are invited to send text messages, vote for music videos to be played, and test their pop culture smarts by answering trivia questions written specifically for the event.
