Beauty queens talk a lot of talk when they’re trying to win the crown. The pageants aren’t all about stiff hairstyles, Vaselined-teeth and double-stick tape. These young women want to change the world! Do you ever wonder what it is they actually do during their “reign” as Miss whatever? MTV is about to show us with an 8-episode series that follows three beauty queens as they live together for a year prior to winning their respective pageants.
Miss Universe’s Riyo Mori, Miss USA’s Rachel Smith and Miss Teen USA’s Katie Blair will be bunking up together in a New York City apartment for a full year, while MTV records all of their good times and drama, which includes dealing with their newly won fame. The new series is called Pageant Place. The girls will have to deal with long distance relationships with their family, friends and significant others, life in the big city and the responsibilities that come with the title.
Midway through the series, the most recent Miss Teen USA, Hilary Cruz will move in with the girls. Meanwhile, Tara Conner, (if you’re thinking The Terminator - no, that’s Sarah Connor.) the 2006 Miss Teen USA will serve as an “unofficial peer advisor” for the girls. Donald Trump, who is the co-owner to the Miss Universe Organization, will show up from time to time to make sure all of the girls are staying on course with their beauty queen duties.
Pageant Place will begin airing on Wednesday, October 10th at 10:30pm ET/PT on MTV.
