Marti Noxon's Guide To Divorce May Be Developed By Showtime

Glee writer Marti Noxon likes to keep her hands in as many different pots as possible at any given moment. Her newest project is a story about four women in their forties. It sounds a little Sex and the City-ish at first glance, but there is a catch: each of the women highlighted in the show will be going through a divorce after a long tenure of married life. It’s enough of a twist to have caught Showtime’s eye, and the subscription cable channel is working to put the project in development.

Called Guide to Divorce, the half-hour comedy will follow four women as they deal with their families, new relationships, old relationships, and plenty of sex. According to Deadline, the project will be semi-autobiographical for Noxon, who will executive produce Guide To Divorce alongside Vicki Iovine. Like Noxon, Iovine was divorced from famous music producer Jimmy Iovine, and her experiences writing about the divorce and life after should prove to be helpful.

If Showtime decides to pick up Guide to Divorce, Noxon will be a busy lady in the coming months. Deadline noted the veteran writer and producer has two movie scripts in the works. However, she also has a put pilot commitment over at Syfy for Proof, a show about the son of a billionaire tech genius that she is putting together with M. Night Shyamalan. If both of the TV projects get pick-ups, she’ll have to do a delicate balancing act to develop both, but if anyone seems capable of such a feat, it’s Noxon.
