Melissa McCarthy Reportedly Set To Host Saturday Night Live Again
We're in for a treat this weekend when Justin Timberlake returns to Saturday Night Live to host for a fifth time. And it looks like SNL is set to bring back another memorably hilarious host later this season. Melissa McCarthy is reportedly set to host an episode of the NBC sketch comedy series early in April.
Us Weekly posted the news, stating that McCarthy will host SNL for the second time in her career on April 6. While NBC has yet to confirm this news with an official announcement, the timing does seem right for the Mike & Molly star to return. She's starring in two comedies this year, with Identity Thief currently in theaters and The Heat coming up this June. Plus, let's face it, she was one of the best hosts in recent SNL history, so bringing her back seems like a good move, especially following Justin Timberlake's upcoming episode.
With McCarthy's last visit to SNL in mind, news that she's set to return for her second time hosting has me hopeful that she'll reprise two of her more memorable characters. The first, is Linda, the Ranch-dressing-loving taste tester.
And the second is Arlene, the aggressively flirtatious (sexual harassing) co-worker…
Given McCarthy's reputation for hilarity, added to her successful hosting stint back in 2011, hopes will be high for big laughs when she returns to the series. There's no word on who will be the musical guest for the episode, but hopefully NBC will include that information if and when they confirm McCarthy's return to the show.
