VH1 announced this week that in light of model Jasmine Fiore’s death, they will no longer be broadcasting the rest of the reality show Megan Wants a Millionaire. While Fiore herself wasn’t a part of the show, her husband and current suspect of her murder was.
There’s been plenty of news coverage of Fiore’s death. The swimsuit model was found in a suitcase with her fingers cut off and her teeth pulled out and from what I read, they ended up identifying her body by the serial numbers in her breast implants. Her husband, Ryan Jenkins is suspected of being the culprit and fleeing to his native country, Canada.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, as Jenkins was a contestant on VH1’s Megan Wants a Millionare, a reality series that began airing on August 2nd and centers on a bunch of rich guys trying to land a materialist blonde (because there needs to be a show about that), VH1 has opted to cancel it mid-season.
I have to give VH1 credit on this decision. Given the situation, I’m sure this horrible scenario would’ve been a ratings booster for the series as plenty of people would probably tune in to see who this Jenkins guy is. It shows good taste on VH1’s part to discontinue it and it sort of makes up for the fact that they aired such a tacky sounding show to begin with. According to the Reporter, the network hasn’t made a decision about the fate of I Love Money 3, of which Jenkins was also a participant.
