NBC Set To Air Great American Roadtrip This Summer

It looks like NBC is trying to find its own Amazing Race. The peacock network has been playing catch-up in the reality show category, with NBC Universal finding some success with Top Chef and Shear Genius over on Bravo, but on the major network things are either duds or just mediocre. NBC is getting ready to order a series for the summer that will pit families against one another during a destination road trip.

Great American Road Trip will feature seven families crisscrossing the country to iconic destinations like the Washington Monument and Wally World. Each week one family is eliminated when they lose a competition. Right now NBC is planning an eight episode run to test the waters.
