NBC To Air A New Muppets Christmas Special

This year NBC is delivering a brand new Muppets Christmas Special! As apprehensive as I sometimes am when it comes to new Christmas specials (most of which stand no chance of topping the classics), this one sounds like it could be a great little TV special! A Muppets Christmas: Letters to Santa will air on Wednesday, December 17 on NBC (8-9 p.m. ET).In A Muppets Christmas: Letters to Santa, the Muppets accidentally prevent three letters from making their way to the North Pole. Then, according to NBC’s description, “Kermit rounds up his fearless friends to get to the North Pole before Santa makes his rounds on Christmas Eve and as usual, nothing -- not even Miss Piggy's planned trip to the tropics -- can stand between the Muppets and a joyful Christmas. In typical Muppets fashion, chaos and humor ensue as they try to find a way to the North Pole, but will they make it in time?” The special will include all the usual Muppet mayhem as well as musical numbers and lots of holiday spirit. The cast includes: Mayor Bloomberg - himself Whoopi Goldberg - Cab driver Richard Griffiths - Santa Claus Jane Krakowski - Claire's mom Nathan Lane - Officer Meany Jesse Martin - Postal worker Petra Nemcova - Beaker's girlfriend Madison Pettis - Claire Steve Schirripa - Mafia guy Tony Sirico - Mafia guy Uma Thurman - Joy the ticket clerk Paul Williams - Elf
