The death of George Carlin left the world short one great comedian. Fortunately for us, while Carlin may be gone, he left behind decades of work for fans to revisit. This includes numerous stand-up comedy routines as well as TV and film appearances. One of Carlin’s TV credits includes being the very first host on Saturday Night Live. In honor of Carlin, NBC is going to air the series premiere episode of SNL this Saturday night.
The episode will air during the normal Saturday Night Live timeslot, on Saturday, June 28th at 11:30 p.m. ET. SNL creator and executive producer had good things to say about Carlin, stating, "You never forget the people who were there at the beginning. George Carlin helped give 'Saturday Night Live' its start as our first host. He was gracious, fearless, and most important of all, funny."
