Office romances can be tricky, and there were no shortages of those on The Office. So when it came time for us to analyze our favorite Office romantic relationships, we decided to narrow it down to three factors. Humor, likability and longevity. Were they funny as a couple? Did the relationship lead to some of the more amusing moments in the series? Were they likable? Because funny is important, but we want to like them together too. And finally, were they meant to be?

With some help from some of the staff here at TV Blend, I went through as many Office couplings as I could think of and we did our own little performance evaluation on them. We ranked them on a one-to-five scale in the three mentioned categories. Here are the top five Office couples.

5. Darryl and Kelly
Humor: 4.6
Likability: 4.4
Longevity: 1.6
Total Score Average: 3.53
"It's like she only wants to hook up when Ryan comes around. It's getting to the point where I get excited every time I see that little dude walk through the door." - Darryl Philbin

Darryl and Kelly didn't have what it took to last, but what they lacked in longevity, they made up for in humorous moments and bizarre compatibility. Ok, so a lot of their relationship might have been based on Kelly's determination to make Ryan jealous, but Darryl never seemed to mind. What's more, he knew how to get her to access her "un-crazy side" in a way Ryan never could. The couple didn't last long, but somehow they managed to part relatively amicably. And really, if the whole point of their relationship (from Kelly's perspective anyway) was to get Ryan back, it worked, so the romance was successful in the end. Kind of.
4. Jim and Pam
Humor: 3.2
Likability: 5
Longevity: 5
Total Score Average: 4.4
Pam: You came up to my desk and you said, 'this might sound weird, and there's no reason for me to know this, but that mixed berry yogurt you're about to eat is expired.'
Jim: That was the moment that you knew you liked me.
Pam: Yep.
Jim: Wow. Can we make it a different moment?
Pam: Nope.

What? How are Jim and Pam not #1 on this list? Hear me out. They are arguably the most important couple of the series in terms of the overall plot. We watched them go from coworkers and friends to boyfriend and girlfriend, then husband and wife and parents. There's no arguing that they were crucial to the heart of the show. And some of the best Office moments surround this couple and they'll likely go down in TV history as one of the better sitcom couples. But the numbers don't lie! While Jim and Pam scored perfect fives in likability and longevity, they fell a bit short in the humor department. Did they have their funny moments? Absolutely. But this is a couple that was built for romance and The Office is a comedy. As much as we love Jim and Pam,humor counts for a lot, here.
3. Bob Vance and Phyllis
Humor: 3.4
Likability: 5
Longevity: 5
Total Score Average: 4.46
Phyllis: Bob Vance bought this perfume for me in Metropolitan Orlando. It's made from real pine.
Karen: Who's Bob Vance?
Phyllis: You have a lot to learn about this town, sweetie.

Phyllis and Bob Vance have been together longer than any other couple, on the show. What's their secret? Keeping it spicy for one thing. Not only did Phyllis recently demonstrate her appreciation for Fifty Shades of Gray, but she and Bob Vance also revealed their willingness to take their passion outside of the bedroom when they spent some "quality" time together in a restaurant bathroom while on a double date with Jim and Pam. Hey, it was Valentine's Day! In terms of TV couples, Bob Vance (of Vance Refrigeration) and Phyllis have it all. They're funny, they love each other, they're compatible, and they've stuck together through it all.
2. Michael and Holly
Humor:4.2
Likability: 5
Longevity: 4.6
Total Score Average: 4.6
"My resolution? I never want to make Holly cry again. Unless it's from laughing too hard. Or making love too beautifully." - Michael Scott

Michael and Jan may have had that whole strange opposites-attract vibe, and there was some definite chemistry there at the peak of that relationship, not to mention humor. But in the end, Michael and Holly's relationship was not only Michael's best romance, but one of the best romances in the series. Holly Flax was a character designed for Michael. Smart, beautiful and sweet, she also somehow managed to grasp his sense of humor. She found his awkwardness endearing in a way that few women could. The two were funny together, they were irresistible on screen and they proved to be made for one another, though it took some time to make it happen. After a brief romance, a break-up and a reunion, the two ended up getting engaged and moving off to Colorado together. Living happily ever after, they are.
1. Dwight and Angela
Humor:4.8
Likability: 4.6
Longevity: 4.8
Total Score Average: 4.73
Dwight: What about that meeting later to discuss finances?
Angela: Yes. But don't expect any cookie.
Dwight: But what if I'm hungry?
Angela: No cookie.

As you can see, the total scores were close, but in the end, Dwight and Angela took the prize cookie for the top Office romance. They even managed to score a 4.8 in longevity, which just goes to show - even with Dwight's current relationship with Esther - we're hopeful to the point of expectant that these two will end up together when all is said and done. Their relationship started in secret, as neither wanted the rest of the staff to know that the sales guy and the accounting woman were dating. It collapsed when Dwight mercy-killed Angela's cat, and they rekindled later when Angela got engaged to Andy. The relationship collapsed again after that, and almost started again when the two agreed to have a child together. Obviously, that fell through. As will-the-wont-they relationships go, these two are nearly at Ross and Rachel status, but the drama came second to the humor, which is what made them such a great couple in this comedy. Dwight and Angela may not be perfect for anyone else. He's an oddball beet farmer. She's a judgmental, uptight cat enthusiast. Together, somehow, they they're meant for each other. And they made us laugh a lot over the years.

Here's how some of the other couples rated:

Erin & Pete - 3.5
Kelly & Ryan - 3.47
Michael & Jan - 3.13
Andy & Erin - 2.6
Michael & Carol - 2.53
Oscar & The Senator - 2.5
Dwight & Isabel - 2.44
Angela & Andy - 2.4
Jim & Karen - 2.4
Erin & Gabe - 2.33
Angela & The Senator - 2
