Once Upon A Time Episode 9 Preview: Emma Caulfield Appears In True North
For those of us who are eagerly anticipating the guest appearance by a certain Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum on ABC’s Once Upon a Time, the wait is nearly over. Nearly. The series returns this Sunday night, however Emma Caulfield’s guest appearance doesn’t take place until the week after. But ABC was kind enough to release some photos from the episode, which give us a look at Caulfield in costume.
Spoiler warning! Photos and episode details ahead!
Once Upon A Time includes various familiar fairy tales as the series bounces between our reality and a story-book reality filled with characters many of us grew up reading about. Set to air on Sunday, January 15th, the episode titled “True North” follows a Hansel and Gretel theme as Emma tries to help two children find their father before they’re put into foster care, while, presumably in the story book world, the Evil Queen manages to get Hansel and Gretel to steal something from a blind witch. That’s where Emma Caulfield comes in. Buffy fans will remember her for her role as the blunt, often literal once-vengeance demon Anya.
Here are a couple of photos from the episode, which feature Caulfield looking especially witchy.
Caulfield’s appearance on the series sort of reunites her with former Buffy writer Jane Espenson, however Espenson didn’t write “True North.” But she did write “Desperate Souls," and that’s the episode set to air this Sunday night (January 8th at 8:00 p.m. on ABC), so be sure to tune in!
