Paula Abdul’s been pretty busy. Between the American Idol audition process and that whole stalker scandal, it’s a wonder she had time to serve as host and coach for MTV’s upcoming special, Rah! Paula Abdul’s Cheerleading Bowl. The 90-minute special features a five college cheerleading squads as they head off to New York to compete against each other.
Abdul, the former Laker-girl/pop-star/choreographer/current-American Idol judge will coach the teams to help them amp of their game and hopefully bring it on. The participating squads include The Univeristy of Arizona, University of Hawaii, University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, University of Montana, and The University of Miami at Ohio.
According to the press release MTV release:
“long with Abdul, a panel of judges and cheerleading experts will critique the squads on athletic ability, creativity and teamwork. Serving as Rah! judges are Hi-Hat, choreographer for Bring It On and Step Up 2: The Streets, Scott Bouchard, Head Coach for UMass Dartmouth, and Brenna Klinger, NJ Nets Dancer. Facing off for a shot at a once-in-a-lifetime prize – a feature in American Cheerleader Magazine and a trip for their squad to attend MTV Spring Break 2009 – the teams will give it their all until four are forced to pack-up their pom poms and one is dubbed the Rah! cheer champ.”
