Rescue Me's Steven Pasquale Joins NBC Pilot Do No Harm

NBC’s Do No Harm pilot came out of the woodworks earlier this week. The medical drama boasts a lead with a split personality and may end up being some serious competition for NBC’s other medical drama pilot County, which is also creating a pilot in the hopes it will go to series next season. While County has been getting its act into gear for weeks, Do No Harm is just now finally pulling the pieces together, now the drama has found its perfect man to play the show's Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde-esque lead.

Steven Pasquale is set to play the lead in Do No Harm. According to THR, Pasquale will play Dr. Jeffrey Kohn, a neurosurgeon at a hospital who must continually deal with the ramifications of a having a split personality. Pasquale joins the cast just after Alan De La Garza, who also nabbed a role as a doctor.

Pasquale hasn’t yet gotten a series on air where he has been the main attraction, although he did have one of the biggest roles in FX drama Rescue Me's ensemble cast, as well as a memorable role as a dancing instructor on an early episode of Six Feet Under. Honestly, though, the second I realized the actor, with his cleft chin and perfect mouth mixed in with his off-putting, intense gaze was getting the role of a man with a split personality, I really understood the choice. So, bravo for whichever casting director put that two and two together. If Do No Harm does end up making it to series, I’ll be interested to see if Pasquale’s acting chops work with his perfect-for-the-role facial features.
