SAG Nominates Outstanding TV PerformancesAuthor: Josh Tyler

With the Oscars approaching and the constant buzz of 2006 movie awarding, it’s easy for television to get lost in the shuffle. But the Screen Actors Guild awards both television and film acting, and they’ve just announced their 13th annual list of nominees. Actors awarding actors for great acting. Now that makes sense.
The drawback to any television awards ceremony is of course, that you have to wade through all the miniseries and movie winners that no one cares about. Once you get past those nominees though, you’ll see a great list of deserving candidates. For instance Michael C. Hall get some recognition for his amazing work in ‘Dexter” for the Male Actor in a Drama series category. The Male Actor in Comedy category will be almost impossible to pick from, with Alec Baldwin for ’30 Rock’, Steve Carell for ‘The Office’, Jason Lee for ‘My Name is Earl’, Jeremy Piven for ‘Entourage’, and Tony Shaloub for ‘Monk’ nominated. ‘Monk’ seems to clean up almost every year, even though no one watches it. This year I don’t think Shaloub stands a chance. Below is the full list of this year’s SAG television nominees. To see their film nominees, visit our movies section here.
