See Star Wars At The Rose Parade

I’m still not sure exactly why George Lucas was the Grand Marshall of yesterday’s annual Tournament of Roses parade, but he was. The Rose Parade is already an annual tradition in my house. There’s nothing better than waking up New Year’s day and then staying in bed with a bowl of cereal to watch flower-themed floats. It just feels right. But with Lucas there, there was more reason than ever to watch it: Star Wars.

In honor of George being the parade’s Head Honcho, the Tournament of Roses took on a Star Wars theme. Two huge, awesome Star Wars floats made their way down the street and Vader showed up escorted by over 200 members of the 501st legion of Storm Troopers. It was weirdly cool.
