Seinfeld's Jason Alexander Enrolls At Community For A Guest Spot
It's a good day to be a Seinfeld fan. The popular 90s sitcom seems to be a popular topic today, between its strong showing in a recent poll about the "greatest sitcom" to the news that Michael Richards (Kramer) was cast in TV Land's Giant Baby pilot. And most recently comes word that Jason Alexander (George) is set to appear in Community in the comedy's upcoming and anticipated fourth season.
THR shared the news, stating that Alexander will guest star in one episode of Season 4, following a Tweet by Alexander:
There are no details about who he's playing or when we can expect him to appear, but this is pretty amazing news. Enough so that it takes a little bit of the sting out of Chevy Chase's recent departure from the series.
Well known for playing the anxiety-ridden George Costanza on Seinfeld, Alexander's recent TV credits include guest spots on Two and a Half Men, Franklin & Bash and Harry's Law. He's also the narrator on TruTV's Clipaholics. As known as he is from Seinfeld, I find myself more prone to quoting him from his role in Shallow Hal (particularly, the toe scene). Seeing him back on NBC on Thursday night, even for one episode of Community, will be a real treat for those of us who loved him in Seinfeld and also love Community, which returns for Season 4 on February 7.
In related news, as mentioned, Seinfeld was voted the greatest sitcom in a recent 60 Minutes/Vanity Fair poll. And find information on Michael Richard's role in Giant Baby here.
