Seth MacFarlane Kicks Off SNL's Season Premiere With A Musical Opening Monologue

Seth MacFarlane hosted Saturday Night Live last night for the series' 38th season. The show began with an Obama Address cold open, which led into MacFarlane's musical and voice-filled opening monologue. Check out the highlight videos ahead, which also include the musical performances by Frank Ocean.

Jay Pharaoh took over the role of Barack Obama on SNL last night, kicking off the sketch comedy series' 38th season with the cold open. I'm a fan of Pharaoh, but Fred Armisen had pretty much mastered that impersonation, so Pharoah's take, which isn't quite as clipped as Armisen's, may take a bit of getting used to.

MacFarlane's monologue was great for those of us who love when he does the Family Guy voices. He also threw in a random Kermit the Frog impersonation and a pretty hilarious impression of Michael J. Fox's Marty McFly from Back to the Future. Good stuff! Later on, he got some laughs for playing Ryan Lochte during Weekend Update, and we saw him enthuse about Gangnam style for the Lids sketch.
