Should The CW Renew Smallville?

There’s good news for some of CW’s shows and no-news for others as the network has opted to renew a number of their series, including the popular Supernatural and Vampire Diaries. But what about Smallville?

According to Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello, the CW gave full-season renewals to Supernatural, Gossip Girl, 90210, The Vampire Diaries and America’s Next Top Model. As for Smallville, One Tree Hill, Life Unexpected and Melrose Place, word is still out. Ausiello states that of the bubble shows still waiting or a verdict from the network, Smallville and One Tree Hill stand the best chance of returning.

Ausiello went on to say that he spoke with CW president Dawn Ostroff last month and she said she was “feeling optimistic” about Smallville’s renewal chances. Whether that’s a good thing or not depends on how much you love the show, of course. Some consider Smallville to be a show that’s overstayed its welcome on TV. Disagree? Post a comment below. We’d also love to hear some arguments for the network renewing One Tree Hill, Melrose Place and Life Unexpected.
