There’s nothing quite like capping off a long day with an episode of Conan. Hosted by Conan O’Brien, who’s joined by his trusted sidekick Andy Richter, the TBS late night talk show continues to be unpredictable, occasionally goofy and consistently hilarious, which is why I consider it great news to share that TBS has extended the show through April 2014.
TBS made the announcement today, noting that the series, which premiered in November 2010, has recently charted its third consecutive month of audience growth. TBS also notes the DVR, online and mobile viewing of the series, which given the popularity of the show among young adults, is certainly worth taking into consideration when gaging the success of the talk show. In 2012, Conan has averaged 1.1 million viewers. Extending the series to 2014 is certainly good news and a relief to viewers like me who have begun to rely on Conan to provide some of the last laughs of the day. Between his interviews, the random segments, which include his weekly invitation for fans to submit videos correcting his mistakes, to the general goofiness of the series, as things occasionally go wrong, or a joke takes on a life of its own, you never really know what you're going to get from the show, but funny is usually on the menu. Conan has only gotten better with age, and if it continues to do so, we have much to look forward to from the series. |
