There are three different types of reality shows. The good ones, the bad ones and the ones that are so bad, they’re good. After watching an episode of A&E’s new reality series, ‘The Two Coreys,’ I am somewhat torn about how I would classify this new show. Is it bad? Kind of. Is it so bad, it’s good? Possibly. It’s really hard to say after just one episode but I do think this series has the potential to be dreadfully addicting.
‘The Two Coreys’ follows Haim, Feldman and Feldman’s wife, Susie as they live together and go about their daily lives. If you’re too young to know who the two Coreys are or have no respect for the relevance they had in American pop culture, this show really doesn’t have much to offer you. In fact so far, one of the the only things this show has to offer is the fact that these two Coreys were hugely popular for a little while. For many viewers, that will be enough. The duo are constantly chatting about their old movies, especially the film that launched the duo into celebrity status, Lost Boys. I suppose this is to be expected. After all, watching the two revisit their glory days any way they can is probably why most people will tune in to watch the show in the first place.
The other thing this series has to offer is a look into the life of two people who were once on top of the world and are now virtual unknowns in the industry (although it wont hurt their careers if this show turns out to be a hit). While Feldman has married and settled down, Haim had some addiction problems that he’s still trying to put behind him. His reputation is damaged and he’s burned a lot of bridges. He wants desperately to start working again and to rebuild his status as an actor. Whether it’s because he’s ruined his reputation or because no one believes Haim’s former popularity is worth much, finding work isn’t easy for him these days.
Feldman might have the same problem as Haim in getting new projects rolling but it’s hard to say because he doesn’t appear to be all that interested in pursuing his own career path. He seems more wrapped up in his wife, Susie’s career to care much about his own goals. When Haim eagerly shows up at a radio station to be interviewed alongside his pal, Feldman blows off the interview to stay home and watch his wife talk on the phone with Stuff Magazine about a photo shoot.
As for the dynamic in the house, Haim’s sloppiness and goofy attitude clashes with Mr. and Mrs. Feldman’s neat home and minimal senses of humor. Feldman and Haim bicker over little things, mostly having to due with Haim’s behavior or Feldman’s lack of any sincere interest in teaming up to reclaim their careers. When it comes down to it though, these two are old friends who do seem to appreciate the opportunity they’ve been given with this show.
All in all I do believe this series will fall under the so-bad-it’s-good category of Reality TV. One of the only real problems I had with the show based on this one episode was the fact that I felt sorrier for Haim than I wanted to. When I watch these types of reality TV shows, I want to root for the people I like and mock the people I dislike. I really dont want to feel sorry for the subject of the show. Feeling pity is an emotion that makes me feel somewhat uncomfortable. ‘The Two Coreys’ came very close to inspiring that kind of awkward emotion from me at times. Whether this was something the producers intentionally went for or the material was simply speaking for itself, I couldn't say. Either way, I felt the few teary-eyed moments of the episode were the weakest. It was the upbeat scenes and casual conversations among the Coreys that were the most interesting and entertaining. I'm hoping to see more of that as the series goes on.
In terms of other first impressions of the show, it did leave me wanting to see whether or not Haim can manage to find some work. I am hoping he will begin to realize that if he wants to make a comeback, he’s probably going have to forget about trying to motivate Feldman and get back out there and do it on his own. As for Feldman, I think he’s a bit too aware that the cameras are on him. His body language and the way he talks often seemed to have a sort of scripted feel to them. Hopefully he’ll loosen up a bit and let us see what he’s like when he’s genuinely just being himself.
I think I’ll give this series 3 stars for now. I found the episode very entertaining but I’m not entirely sure where the series is headed. It has the potential to go either way at this point and the direction (and success) of the series will depend entirely on Haim and Feldman’s willingness to let their guards down and take some chances. Either way, this series definitely has that train-wreck-ish quality that makes it so difficult for viewers to look away. I’ll definitely be tuning in for at least a few more episodes.
’The Two Coreys’ premieres premieres July 29th at 10PM ET/PT on A&E

I think the coreys are the best. I realy wish they can work through their differences and get along. I would love to see it happen. I think it is realy stupid that they are fighting. They have been through a lot together and best friends shouldn't treat each other that way. I like both coreys and could never pick between them. (I like Haim a little more than Feldman, I can understand where he is coming from. Everyone is always against him and thats wrong, Feldman should be on his side. I know what Haim is going through and I feel bad. I hope he can get pass all of that shit and renew his carrer). I love Corey Haim and Corey Feldman!!!
I think Corey's wife has a lot to do with why they are fighting. She is always covincing Feldman that Haim is shit, and he's not. No wonder Haim was on drugs, I don't blame him. If I had some snippy little witch telling my best friend bad shit abount me, I'd be on drugs too. I hope Feldman can understand that friendship is more important and should move on. There are plenty other women out there that would accept Feldman and be on Haim's side. As for me, I agree with Haim. It's not always his fault, and I can't understand why they are fighting. It's stupid, and I think Mrs. Feldman shound mind her own business, keep out of the Corey's relationship, and stop messing with Haim's head. Hang in there Haim, I'm with you all the way!!!
i think these to guys are pathetic,,,,,,,,,they have had the chance in life then most people ever have...and they have wasted it. Jesus there are more inportant issues in life then these to numb skulls..........i feel nothing for these two.........
Love the show. Love Corey Haim. He is still the same person.. been through a little .. but who hasn't .. Give him a break. If he can do it once I am sure he can do it again.... I am "Once a fan, Always a fan" I don't care what he has done.. is doing.. or will do... I respect him for him ... I am sure I am not the only one.... And he is still HOT!!!!!!!!
Love the show! Have seen asll 3 episodes. The wife really annoys me. She needs to let Corey and Corey have some time together. She does seem to try to get herself involved in everything and she needs to just leave the guys alone once and awhile. Heard some is scripted, so I hope the wife issues are to just highlight waht the two C's may have had to go through with a wife in the place. Show more Corey Corey talk and activities.
I like the show, you have to take it for what it is. I agree the wife needs to go! She's annoying, I change the channel when she starts her boohooing, bores me. Everyone loves an underdog story, I would love to see Corey Haim really get something out of this experience. I don't want to keep having to feel bad for him. Don't get me wrong he is very nice to look at.
Not sure what to say, it was a pretty good show, I always loved their movies, and corey feldman always thought he was cute, Both coreys could go far if they just make it, I am not sure about the wife in this picture, Corey feldman could be his own person and so could she, but it seems one cannot be without the other and that in a way is not good.
Corey Haim he is a cutie and will make a come back who would not want to see him on the big screen. Good luck you can do it.
I will watch another show or two and see what happens.
YES!Sorry Feldman but your wife seems like a major bitch! She thinks the show is about her or she just likes to steal the attention away from Corey Haim by sqeezing out a few fake tears to get Corey Feldman to lash out against his best friend!Wake up little Susie the show is called The Two Coreys. Not A day in the life of Corey Feldmans wife!Susie seems like she knows exactly how to push Corey Haims buttons & she gets Haim to act exactly the way she wants him to act in an attempt to make haim look bad & to keep Corey Feldman on her side.Corey Feldman wake up!& stand up for your Best friend I know she's your wife but Corey haim has been your friend for over 20 YEARS!Plus Haim realy needs your friendship & support right now.Haim is a guest in your home spend more time with Haim & tell susie that she needs to stop being so selfish! When Corey Haim & Corey Feldman put there heads together I think they can accomplish a major COMEBACK!I say Corey Haim & Corey Feldman should make their own version of Lost Boys 2 & get the orginal cast & director.I think that they have the right to do this.Lost Boys is the Coreys movie & it should be made with them in it!I would watch it!Screw Warner Bros.!I can't believe Warner Bros. is screwing the Coreys from Lost Boys 2!I think the Coreys should make their own version of the Lost Boys 2 & They should call it "The Real Lost Boys"!Haim I hope you feel better & Feldman I hope you get more serious about this comeback this is your last chance at this!Good Luck!I hope I see the Two Coreys in a bunch of big buget major blockbuster movies!I love the show!!!I hope Susie stops trying to ruin The Two Coreys chances of a comeback!
In my eyes as the audience as watching Corey Haim for so many years. I genuinely feel that I know him and can relate to him. I think he is a wonderful actor that did whatever young actor now is doing and that's drugs.. Look at Lindsey Lohan. Come on guys, when we see Corey we think about the young years when we were teenagers and the way it felt to be young again...at least that's how I feel when I see him...he definitly doesn't have the teenage look any longer, but he has that spark that we all remember. The funny perky silly Corey...and sensitive side that makes him just a regular guy like all of us... I think he can make a comeback and I can see him in comedy roles...someone in the industry should take a chance and see what he can do again...
I agree with the woman in the article about pitying Corey Haim. The truth of the matter is, he seems too far removed from reality and looks so unhealthy from all the drugs, his chances of a comeback are slim to none. He seemed to think that Lost Boys 2 would change his career for the better when in reality it would probably make people take him even less seriously. He needs to earn back his old fans and gain plenty of new ones before taking on a project such as that. I agree with Feldman, the material would really have to be top notch for it even to worth it (if the movie weren't already being made without the Coreys). I will watch the show again even though it is often painful at times to watch Haim.
I think the show has potential. But Corey F's wife is a little annoying. It seems like she's all about herself and doesn't want to push Corey F to pursue his career. I understand she wants to be with him, but does she have to sit in the middle at these interviews? She wasn't part of the Lost Boys. Can't she just stand on the side? And what's up with her crying over a stupid meeting w/the PETA chick. She needs to get over it. I hope Corey F stands up for himself and gets out from under her skirt. Get a backbone Corey F!! I'm rooting for you buddy!!!
The show was good, but I feel sorry for Corey Haim. Corey Feldmens wife is such a Selfish BRAT, and has Corey Feldmen wrapped around her finger. From the 2 first shows I have just watched, she convinces him into not partisipating in the growth of her husbands carer, but yet dose all she can to promote her self. She is SOOO selfish, and disrespectful to both her husband and Corey Haim. Over all, I did really like the show, and will continue to watch it. I give it an A
