It was back to all the usual suspects last week as Dancing With The Stars neared its big finale. And not a moment too soon...just when I thought I was done with annoying campaign advertisements I've had to watch ABC pimping the the show's big finish every other commercial.
With Stars wrapping this week ABC will have precious little in the way of bigs ratings earners until LOST rolls out early next year. That leaves CBS' crime solving trifecta CSI, NCIS and Criminal Minds to dominate the scene.
Speaking of domination, CBS has continued to increase its hold on a solid top ten spot with The Mentalist, which has drawn a surprisingly steady audience for a show in its freshman season. This week at number eight, it consistently draws 13 to 16 million viewers every Tuesday, outperforming other major players like House. Don't look for the show to get much attention at the Emmy's this year, but at this rate it's a lock to be re-upped for at least another couple of seasons.
Monday Night Football continues to keep a death grip on the weekly cable chart. This week the show du jour was NCIS, which took a top ten spot for each of its daily reruns on the USA network. It's nice to see someone besides Sponge Bob and Miley Cyrus hogging the chart for once.
