Not even the final game of the World Series was big enough to unseat Dancing With The Stars last week. By the small measure of only 0.1 rating points the final appearance of Cloris Leachman on the dance show topped the chart. The results show on Wednesday night came in fourth place as Leachman gave a very odd farewell.
Overall television viewership seemed to be up, perhaps due to audiences sensing the impending end of all those annoying political ads. Next week will show how well the networks' coverage of the election performed, but until then the usuals, CSI, NCIS and Desperate Houswives tool the higher honors. NBC finally broke back into the top ten with Sunday Night Football's match-up between the Patriots and the Colts. Leave it to Manning to draw in the viewers. While the score is good for NBC it still leaves them with precious nothing in weekly primetime to keep them as top ten regulars. Manning and the Indianapolis Colts also scored in the cable top ten with their game against the Titans being the number one show. Fox News dominated CNN with The O'Reilly Factor hitting the chart twice and Hannity and Colmes tieing for a five-way seventh place with four different showings of Spongebob Squarepants. Hannah Montana rounded out the group with her first appearance on the chart in a while.
