The Battlestar Prequel Goes Old-School

By Kelly West: 2007-08-05 16:10:35
The Battlestar Prequel Goes Old-School New information has begun trickling in on the ‘Battlestar Galactica’ two-part stand-alone episode set to air in November. The episodes are, a prequel within the series that will focus on the Battlestar Pegasus. What many of us didn’t know was that the episodes will also cover the span of about 50 years, including the original war on the Cylons.

TvshowsonDVD.com, who got this information from the trade publication, Home Media Magazine says that not only will ‘Razor’ mark the return of Admiral Cain (played by Michelle Forbes), the morally questionable admiral of the Pegasus who was killed off in Season 2, but the prequel will also include the rest of the current cast of ‘Battlestar Galactica.’

Home Media Magazine’s source is none other than the series Executive Producer, Ronald D. Moore. The magazine also reported that ‘Razor’ will cover the history of the Pagasus and will include the original Cylon Centurions. As for the episode being a stand-alone, TVshowsonDVD.com had this to say, “The trade mag’s story, written by John Latchern and Billy Gil, emphasizes that ‘Razor’ does not resolve any cliffhangers from the 3rd season (but does give background info that the fans may use to enhance their enjoyment of the 4th season).”

Tvshowsondvd.com reports that ‘Razor’ will premiere on the Sci-Fi Channel on November 24th. The DVD will be released just a couple of weeks later and will include footage that wasn’t aired on television. As for when the third season will be released on DVD, the site couldn’t say but they suspect that Sci-Fi is holding off on the release because the new season of ‘Battlestar’ wont premiere until January 2008.
