The Competition Is Fierce When Betty Meets YETI

The Competition Is Fierce When Betty Meets YETI The competition is on in this week’s episode of Ugly Betty. I had the opportunity to screen the upcoming episode, titled “When Betty Met Yeti” and I thought I’d share a few minor spoilers about the episode with you. So if you don’t want to know what’s coming up, read no further!

We all know how driven our Betty is this season. She’s ready to move on up the corporate ladder and this week, thanks to the brief return of Max Greenfield as Nick Pepper, Betty learns of an organization that could catapult her to editorial greatness. Apparently, Nick’s gone all Ryan-Howard, having launched his career from the half-assed assistant that he was to an actual editor with his own assistant. He made the leap thanks to YETI (Young Editors Training Initiative), an exclusive program that helps assistants get a leg-up into magazine editing. Betty manages to get a last minute application in only to find that Marc is also applying for a place in the program. The program only accepts one assistant per magazine though so this means Betty needs to outshine Marc if she wants a shot at this thing.

Meanwhile, Daniel finds himself drawn to Molly, despite the fact that she’s engaged to Connor. And on the other side, Wilhelmina is still trying to win Connor’s affections. Finally, in the Suarez household, Justin is enjoying a friendship with a boy at school who shares similar interests. While Justin is content in his love for theater and fashion, this other kid isn’t exactly embracing how his friendship with Justin makes him look to his other friends.

Other tidbits include an appearance by real-life designers Mark Badgley and James Miszhka, who show up on behalf of Marc to help him with his presentation for YETI. And while we’re used to Marc’s snide comments and generally bitchy demeanor, he crosses a line in this week’s episode during a conversation with Betty.

No Ralph Macchio this week but the return of Max Greenfield, who was featured in numerous episodes of ABC Family’s Greek this season almost makes up for that. All the same I want to see more Hilda/Archie!
