The Simpsons Goes Hi-Def And Gets A New Main TitleAuthor: Kelly West

Tonight marks the first ever episode of The Simpsons to be broadcast in hi-def! That’s a pretty big milestone for the animated series, which is celebrating its twentieth season (damn, I’m old.) There’s a new title sequence accompanying the episode and if you want to check it out a few hours early, we’ve got it posted right here!
“HDTV Is Worth Every Cent,” Bart writes on the blackboard during the two minute opening sequence that’s set to kick off tonight’s episode of The Simpsons, title “Take My Life, Please.” Those of us who love hi-def do tend to go on about it, don’t we? I guess it’s sort of like when we upgraded from using the VCR to record things, to Tivo. We knew people probably got tired of hearing us talk about how insanely awesome Tivo is and how we could never go back to using the VCR to record things but come on, it’s true right? So if you’re a hi-def junkie, you probably agree with Bart’s repeated phrase of the week. And tonight you’ll get to see Bart and the rest of his family in all their yellow glory in hi-def… if you have HDTV, that is… and if you don’t you should totally get it because it’s awesome. Below’s the new opening title sequence: The Simpsons airs on Sunday nights at 8:00 PM on Fox. |
