True Blood Season 5, Episode 10: Video From Gone, Gone, Gone

Russell is back! Not only is that not a True Blood spoiler, but it's also not news. He's been back on the series and back to form for a while in Season 5. The clip we have to show you from this Sunday night's episode features a very interesting Russell moment.

All of this Lilith stuff has presented a bit of a distraction for everyone. And while Eric is being held under lock and key, Russell is out and he's taken baby-vampire Newlin along for the ride. I doubt I'm all that original in theorizing that Russell and Newlin were destined to get together. The two have been engaging in some serious eye contact lately, both seeming to share the same glee for mischief. But watching the clip below, I can't help but wonder if maybe Russell's trying to manipulate Newlin. Watch the (bloody) scene for yourself and see if you agree…



So, putting aside the fact that Russell seems to have abandoned interest in Lilith (or has shelved it for the time being, anyway), what exactly is going on here? It looks like they've crashed (and devoured) a party, and are now enjoying a post-feeding romantic moment. That's when Russell brings up walking in the sun - a reference to Sookie's blood (or really, any fairy blood, and there are a few of them wandering around these days). It's not surprising that Russell has regained his interest in fairy blood, but is he genuinely interested in sharing that experience with Newlin? Or is he just using Newlin in the hopes of getting him to help him get to Sookie?Whether or not Russell knows it, Newlin does have a connection to Sookie through Jason. That might lead to some issues as Season 5 draws to a close (three episodes to go!). Something to ponder while we wait for Sunday.
